Overview
- Peru’s Ministry of Culture set a temporary daily limit of 5,600 visitors on specific dates in 2026—Jan. 1; Apr. 2–5; Jun. 19–Nov. 2; and Dec. 30–31—while maintaining a 4,500-per-day cap otherwise.
 - Reservations and payments for 2026 entries to the Inca Trail network and the Machu Picchu citadel will be enabled starting Monday, Nov. 17, according to the ministry.
 - All 2026 tickets must be purchased digitally via the official Tu Boleto portal to strengthen access control, curb resale and increase transparency.
 - Promotional 2026 tariffs were approved: S/64 general and S/32 student/child for main circuits, and S/112 general and S/80 student/child for mountain routes such as Machu Picchu and Huayna Picchu.
 - Inca Trail entry will be linked to circuit 3B inside the site, and technical work is underway to open route 6 to spread visitor flows; officials also reported 149,977 visitors in October under the new ticketing and control system.
