Machilipatnam Prepares Security and Logistics for June Masula Beach Festival

Authorities mobilized disaster response units to finalize festival operations through specialized committees

Overview

  • Excise Minister Kollu Ravindra led review meetings on June 1 and 2 to coordinate infrastructure, departmental duties and the festival schedule ahead of the June 5–8 event.
  • State Disaster Response Force and National Disaster Response Force teams, along with fire service personnel, have been deployed around Manginapudi beach to ensure visitor safety.
  • Six specialized committees have been formed to manage publicity, invitations, stage operations, sports, cultural programmes and media coordination, with a permanent panel planned for Manginapudi beach development.
  • APSRTC will run dedicated buses and one-way traffic will be enforced on the Chilakalapudi–beach route, with return diversions, standby generators and installed transformers securing uninterrupted power.
  • The festival opens June 5 with the unveiling of a 100-foot national flag, followed by volleyball, kabaddi, other sports, cultural performances, food stalls and helicopter rides.
