MacArthur Foundation Announces 2023 Class of 'Genius Grant' Fellows

The John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation named 20 recipients of the 2023 MacArthur Fellowships, known as "genius grants."
Each fellow receives $800,000 over five years to use at their discretion after being nominated anonymously by their peers and communities.
The 2023 class includes scholars, artists, scientists, and activists working in diverse fields like law, computer science, ecology, poetry, and more.
Notable fellows include U.S. Poet Laureate Ada Limón, hula master Patrick Makuakāne, and scientists Jason Buenrostro and Linsey Marr.
The no-strings-attached fellowships support fellows to advance their expertise, engage in new work, or change fields.
