Mac Miller’s Long-Shelved Album ‘Balloonerism’ Officially Released

The experimental and deeply personal project, recorded in 2014, arrives alongside a companion animated film, marking the late rapper's second posthumous release.

‘Balloonerism’ features 14 tracks blending neo-soul, jazz, and psychedelic influences, showcasing Mac Miller’s experimental artistry during a pivotal period in his career.
The album includes collaborations with SZA, Thundercat, and Miller’s alter ego Delusional Thomas, with standout tracks like '5 Dollar Pony Rides' and 'DJ’s Chord Organ.'
Originally recorded in 2013–2014, the project was shelved in favor of other releases but was of significant personal importance to Miller, according to his estate.
A companion animated short film, directed by Samuel Jerome Mason, explores themes from the album and is now available on Amazon Prime Video.
