Overview
- Henderson County officials identified the three people killed as Kimberly Simpson, 51, Connie Patrick, 72, and Rodney Hammonds, 57.
- Deputies said Simpson and Patrick were shot multiple times, and Hammonds had a gunshot wound along with blunt force trauma and multiple stab wounds.
- Two additional victims, Colton Reid, 24, and Henry Hopgood, 70, were hospitalized in Tyler, with Reid expected to survive and Hopgood listed in critical condition.
- Investigators said the suspect, 29-year-old Christopher Kyle Reid Jr., crashed a maroon 2003 Dodge Caravan into an Ennis Buc-ee’s around 5 a.m., pinning a woman in her 30s from Oklahoma who was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
