Overview
- The M65 westbound between junctions 10 (Burnley Barracks) and 9 (Rose Grove) was shut late Friday after a serious collision and reopened at about 6am Saturday.
- Emergency services, Lancashire Police and National Highways traffic officers managed the M65 scene, with an official diversion via the A671 and A679 during the closure.
- A separate collision on the M11 southbound between junctions 9 and 8 this morning closed two lanes and generated long queues near the route to Stansted Airport.
- National Highways said all M11 lanes later reopened after vehicles were moved to the hard shoulder and debris was cleared, with traffic released shortly afterward.
- Drivers were advised to plan ahead and allow extra time due to residual congestion on both corridors following the incidents.
