Overview
- The collision was reported at around 6:25am, with all traffic initially held before lane 1 reopened at about 6:49am.
- Lanes 2, 3 and 4 remain shut for vehicle recovery and clear-up, allowing only one lane to pass the scene.
- National Highways reports delays in excess of 90 minutes on the northbound carriageway between the M5 and Wednesbury.
- Congestion extends for roughly six miles, reaching toward Spaghetti Junction and causing very long queues on the M5 as well.
- West Midlands Police and ambulance crews are at the scene, and injuries have not yet been confirmed as officials assess the incident.
