M40 Reopens After HGV Crash as Police Seek Dashcam Footage

Investigators continue their inquiries while separate motorway incidents elsewhere are adding delay during repair and clear‑up work.

Overview

  • Warwickshire Police issued a witness and dashcam appeal for incident 380 of 4 November after an HGV crossed from the northbound to the southbound M40 and struck two vehicles.
  • All M40 carriageways have now reopened following overnight recovery, central reservation repairs and resurfacing between junctions 12 and 13.
  • Six people were assessed at the scene; a man and a woman suffered serious injuries and were taken to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire, and two others were also taken to hospital.
  • National Highways confirmed significant barrier and road surface damage from the collision, which required emergency works before reopening.
  • Network disruption continues elsewhere, with M62 westbound resurfacing after an HGV fuel spill reducing lanes from this evening, a cleared M25 car fire in Essex that left residual delays, and a Heathrow Tunnel collision that reopened with queues.
