Overview

• Emergency services were alerted at about 7:14am to a collision involving five vehicles near Hungerford.
• Fire crews from Royal Berkshire and Oxfordshire, including a Heavy Rescue Unit, separated vehicles and used breathing apparatus and two hose reels to put out the fires.
• Two people were taken into the care of South Central Ambulance Service.
• National Highways reported the eastbound closure between Junctions 14 and 13, while traffic officers reopened the westbound carriageway and warned of delays potentially easing around 10am subject to recovery.
