M25 Near Heathrow Shut After Crash as M6 Police Incident Snarls North-West Commutes

Emergency services say the M25 clockwise at Junction 14 will remain closed for hours after a car–lorry collision sent a man to hospital.

Overview

  • National Highways reports the M25 clockwise is closed within Junction 14, with drivers diverted via the slip roads in an up-and-over arrangement and delays of up to 50–60 minutes for Heathrow-bound traffic.
  • London Fire Brigade said firefighters freed a man from a vehicle in the early hours and he was taken to hospital, with the scene handed to the Metropolitan Police and National Highways for investigation and recovery.
  • Two lanes on the M6 northbound between Junctions 25 (Bryn) and 26 (Orrell Interchange) are shut for a police incident, with queues back toward Junction 24 and an estimated clearance around 08:30–08:45.
  • In Yorkshire, two lanes on the M1 northbound at Lofthouse reopened after a collision in a roadworks area, though residual congestion stretched to Junction 40.
  • Earlier regional disruptions on the M62, M61 and A666 around Greater Manchester, and a multi-vehicle collision on the M5 at Oldbury, have largely cleared but left lingering tailbacks and longer journey times.
