Lurie Narrows Search for San Francisco’s District 4 Supervisor After Alcaraz’s Exit

A confidential, more exhaustive vetting process is underway following the failed appointment that ended in a one-week resignation.

  • The mayor’s office says at least five contenders are in the mix: Natalie Gee, Albert Chow, Tiffany Deng, Alan Wong and Ike Kwon.
  • A 13-section questionnaire obtained by Mission Local probes taxes, business records, offshore accounts, social media (including any “finsta”), and stances on the Family Zoning plan and the Great Highway.
  • Applicants were told to return the form by Nov. 17 to mayoral liaison Adam Thongsavat, and the document is marked confidential.
  • Mission Local has filed a public-records request to learn who received and submitted the questionnaire as scrutiny of the appointment process intensifies.
  • Hardware store owner Albert Chow says he completed the form and plans to run in 2026, as pressure builds to fill the vacancy ahead of an early-December Board vote on the Family Zoning proposal.
