Lupita Nyong'o Named Head of 2024 Berlin Film Festival Jury

The Oscar-winning actress's appointment precedes an impending leadership change for the festival.

Lupita Nyong'o, Academy Award-winning actress, has been named the head of the competition jury for the 2024 Berlin Film Festival.
Nyong'o is known for her versatility in embracing different projects and her consistency in character portrayal, according to Berlinale directors Mariëtte Rissenbeek and Carlo Chatrian.
The 2024 Berlinale, scheduled to run from February 15 to 25, will be the last under the current leadership of Rissenbeek and Chatrian.
Nyong'o, who has also directed, produced and written, is currently developing a series based on Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s 'Americanah' and recently served as the executive producer of the Sudanese film 'Goodbye Julia'.
The announcement of Nyong'o's appointment comes a day before Germany’s culture minister, Claudia Roth, is set to announce the new leadership for the festival.
