Overview
- Lula opened the 5th National Conference of Policies for Women at 10:00 at the Centro Internacional de Convenções do Brasil in Brasília.
- Roughly 4,000 participants from all states, social movements, universities and civil-society organizations are taking part, according to the federal government.
- Debates center on combating gender-based violence, pay and opportunity equality, care policies, daycare access, education quality, comprehensive health and support for female entrepreneurship.
- A 14:00 panel features the Minister of Women, Márcia Lopes, alongside a lineup of Lula ministers from key portfolios such as Indigenous Peoples, Environment, Racial Equality, Planning, Culture, Human Rights and Science and Technology.
- Later today the president is scheduled to attend the Supreme Court ceremony where Edson Fachin assumes the presidency and Alexandre de Moraes becomes vice president.
