Overview
- Thousands set out from the San Cayetano Sanctuary in Liniers on Saturday for the 51st annual trek to the Basilica of Our Lady of Luján.
- Archbishop Jorge García Cuerva said organizers expect more than one million participants and will preside the central Mass on Sunday at 7:00.
- The route advances along Avenida Rivadavia and onto National Route 7, covering roughly 60 kilometers through several Buenos Aires Province municipalities.
- Support on the route includes about 58 medical posts, 14 support stations and 12 AySA cistern trucks for potable water, with volunteers and the Red Cross assisting.
- Authorities ordered traffic diversions across Morón, Merlo, Ituzaingó, Moreno, General Rodríguez and Luján, and reinforced Sarmiento line train services for returning pilgrims.
