Lufthansa’s First Allegris 787-9 Arrives in Frankfurt for October Toronto Launch

Most business-class seats remain unavailable pending FAA certification.

  • The aircraft, a Boeing 787-9 registered D-ABPF, arrived in Frankfurt after a nonstop flight from Boeing’s Paine Field on August 30.
  • Entry into service is planned on the FrankfurtToronto route in October, with initial flights loaded from October 9 through October 25.
  • Only four of the 28 business-class seats are currently bookable due to pending U.S. FAA approval, while the front-row Business Class Suites plus Premium Economy and Economy are on sale.
  • Lufthansa expects up to nine additional Allegris-equipped 787-9 deliveries to Frankfurt by the end of 2025 as part of a broader plan to outfit at least 78 widebodies.
  • The Dreamliner introduces Allegris at the Frankfurt hub following its Munich A350 debut, and this 787-9 configuration does not include a First Class cabin.
