Ludvig Åberg Leads RSM Classic with Stellar Performance

The PGA Tour rookie is on track for a potential victory, which could catapult him into the top 60 in the FedEx Cup.

  • PGA Tour rookie Ludvig Åberg leads the RSM Classic after two rounds, having not made a single bogey and carding a 6-under 64 on the Seaside course.
  • Åberg is No. 3 in strokes gained total at 3.8, picking up almost four shots on the field after two days of play, and missed just four greens in regulation across two rounds.
  • Åberg is also No. 3 in strokes gained off the tee at 1.7 and No. 2 in driving distance, and drove the green on the par-4 5th to make his first of six birdie putts on the day.
  • A victory would move Åberg into the top 60 in the FedEx Cup, send him to Maui to start the new season at Kapalua and get him into the first two $20 million signature events at Pebble Beach and Riviera, as well as the Masters.
  • Åberg, McCarthy and Ryder will be the last group off the first tee on Seaside Saturday morning, beginning their round at 11:05 a.m. ET.
