Lucknow Woman Abducted and Murdered After Boarding Autorickshaw

A 32-year-old woman was abducted and murdered after boarding an autorickshaw at Lucknow's Alambagh bus terminal late at night on March 18-19, 2025.
The autorickshaw driver misled the victim, taking a 35km detour, before her body was found in a Malihabad mango orchard; strangulation was confirmed as the cause of death.
The victim had shared her live location with her brother and expressed suspicion about the driver before the call ended with a scream.
Seven police personnel have been suspended for negligence, and six police teams are actively searching for the primary suspect; the driver’s brother has been arrested.
CCTV footage and other evidence are being used to track the suspect, while police have ruled out sexual assault but continue to investigate all possibilities.
