Lucinda Williams Debuts Lucinda’s Honky-Tonk in East Village With SiriusXM Livestream

The venue opens to the public on July 31 with weekly live country and bluegrass sessions, songwriter open mics, karaoke, a monthly queer country party.

Overview

  • On July 29 Williams performed a private opening concert at Lucinda’s, livestreamed on SiriusXM’s Outlaw Country channel
  • Lucinda’s is co-founded by Williams alongside Laura McCarthy and Kelley Swindall at 169 Avenue A, the former home of Brownie’s, Coney Island Baby and Lola
  • The bar will officially welcome the public on July 31, reviving a storied East Village live-music site
  • Starting in early August, regular programming will include weekly bluegrass picking nights, songwriter open mics, live country performances on Fridays and Saturdays, and live-band karaoke
  • On the last Thursday of each month the East Village Cxntry Club will host an all-inclusive queer country party to broaden downtown’s country-music community
