Lucid Motors has launched 'Lucid Assistant,' an AI-powered voice assistant for its electric vehicles, developed in partnership with SoundHound AI.
Drivers can activate the assistant with the wake words 'Hey Lucid' to access real-time information on topics like weather, sports, and stocks, or control vehicle functions such as navigation.
The assistant can provide answers about the car's functionality by referencing the full vehicle manual and operates even without a cellular connection for many features.
SoundHound's proprietary technology minimizes the risk of inaccurate responses by selecting the most appropriate domain for queries, whether generative AI or real-time data.
Lucid Assistant will receive ongoing updates via over-the-air software improvements, with support for multiple languages and additional features planned for the future.
