Luciano Acosta Wins 2023 MLS MVP

FC Cincinnati's transformation led by Acosta's stellar performance, team now one step away from first final appearance.

Luciano Acosta, FC Cincinnati's midfielder, has been named the 2023 MLS MVP, receiving 60.4 percent of the votes from players, club technical staff, and select reporters.
Acosta was the top scoring contributor with 17 goals and 14 assists in 32 regular season appearances for Cincinnati, leading the team to win the Supporters’ Shield with the best record.
Cincinnati, which was the worst team in the league in each of its first three seasons, is now one step from its first appearance in the final, set to face the Columbus Crew in the Eastern Conference final.
Acosta, who joined Cincinnati in 2021, has recorded 34 goals and 43 assists in 93 regular season appearances since joining the club.
Acosta is the 10th consecutive foreign-born player to win MLS’s top award, and the first player in FC Cincinnati's history to earn the award.
