L&T Wins New Power-Grid Orders, Capping Three Days of Deals Worth Up To ₹12,500 Crore

Three days of new rail, nuclear, grid deals lift L&T’s order book.

Overview

  • Larsen & Toubro’s Power Transmission & Distribution unit announced multiple grid projects valued in the company’s ‘large’ band of ₹2,500–5,000 crore, spanning India, the UAE and Oman.
  • In India, the work includes SCADA integration, smart distribution upgrades, transformer station improvements and conversion of overhead lines to underground cabling.
  • Overseas wins feature two ±300 MVAr STATCOM systems at 400 kV substations in the UAE and a 400/132 kV grid station with a 400 kV line segment in Oman.
  • Earlier in the week, L&T secured MAHSR Package T1 to build 156 RKM of ballastless track from Mumbai’s BKC to Zaroli using Shinkansen J Slab Track technology, taking its share of corridor track-works to over 50%.
  • L&T also disclosed a ‘significant’ NPCIL order for Kudankulam units 5 & 6 covering the mechanical package, with media tallying the three-day awards at up to about ₹12,500 crore as the stock notched modest gains.
