Overview
- The Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers awarded L&T a supply order to manage overhaul, upgrades and obsolescence for in-service Pinaka systems.
- An initial pilot will see L&T and 510 Army Base Workshop jointly refurbish a launcher and a Battery Command Post before the workshop leads remaining overhauls.
- L&T will provide critical spares, subsystem modernisation, technical support and quality oversight as the programme moves to a structured lifecycle framework.
- The company says the public–private model is intended as a blueprint for other defence platforms and aligns with the Aatmanirbhar Bharat push for self-reliance.
- The order value was not disclosed, and L&T shares edged slightly lower following the announcement.
