L&T secures Rs1,000–2,500 crore Rajasthan water and effluent treatment contracts

The deals back a Phase II fluorosis mitigation project supplying water to 285 villages through new pipelines, reservoirs and SCADA systems.

Overview

  • L&T’s Water & Effluent Treatment business won two EPC orders from Rajasthan’s Public Health Engineering Department valued between Rs1,000 crore and Rs2,500 crore.
  • The fluorosis mitigation project entails 5,251 km of transmission and distribution pipelines, 38 ground level reservoirs (40 ML), 20 pump houses and 132 overhead reservoirs (25 ML) to serve 285 villages and the towns of Surajgarh and Udaipurwati.
  • A separate contract will strengthen and rehabilitate the Kekri-Sarwar water supply sector in Ajmer district with 43 km of new transmission pipelines.
  • Both projects include comprehensive electromechanical, instrumentation, automation and SCADA works, plus a one-year defect liability period and ten years of operation and maintenance.
  • L&T has already delivered 24 water projects in Rajasthan, underscoring its experience in regional water infrastructure development.
