LSU’s Ju’Juan Johnson Confirms Transfer Portal Plan, Will Play in Texas Bowl

The former four-star from Lafayette seeks a return to quarterback after two seasons in a utility role.

Johnson said on social media he will finish the season by playing in the Texas Bowl on Dec. 27.
He confirmed he will enter the NCAA transfer portal after reports first surfaced from Rivals' Pete Nakos citing an On3 source.
Used at running back and receiver at LSU despite a high school quarterback background, he has signaled interest in playing quarterback at his next stop.
In 2025 he logged 38 carries for 151 yards and two touchdowns, 17 receptions for 72 yards, and one pass for 14 yards, appearing in 25 games with one start across two seasons.
A top-10 in-state recruit in the 2024 class, he starred at Lafayette Christian Academy and signed with LSU under Brian Kelly.
