LSU Players Make History Going 1-2 in MLB Draft
- LSU pitcher Paul Skenes was selected first overall by the Pittsburgh Pirates and teammate Dylan Crews was picked second by the Washington Nationals.
- This marked the first time college teammates have gone 1-2 in the history of the MLB draft.
- Skenes was MVP of the College World Series which LSU won this year.
- Crews won the Golden Spikes Award for best amateur player prior to the draft.
- After the top two, high school players Max Clark and Wyatt Langford were drafted third and fourth overall.
