LSU Freshman Pole Vaulter Dillon Reidenauer, 18, Killed in Campus Traffic Accident

The rising track and field athlete and a motorcyclist lost their lives in a tragic collision near LSU's Baton Rouge campus.

Dillon Reidenauer, an 18-year-old freshman at LSU and accomplished pole vaulter, died in a two-vehicle crash on February 26, 2025, near the university's Baton Rouge campus.
The accident occurred when Reidenauer's car was struck by a motorcycle while she attempted a left turn; the motorcyclist, 23-year-old Bohdi Linton, also died at the scene.
Reidenauer was a standout athlete, having recently graduated from Fontainebleau High School, where she finished second in the Louisiana state championships.
LSU Athletics and the track and field team expressed deep sorrow over the loss, offering support to Reidenauer’s family, teammates, and others affected by the tragedy.
LSU head coach Dennis Shaver and Fontainebleau High School officials described Reidenauer as a talented, kind, and promising individual, taken far too soon.
