LSU Coach Kim Mulkey Encourages Heart Checks After Undergoing Surgery for Blocked Artery

LSU women's basketball coach Kim Mulkey recently had a heart procedure to insert stents into a blocked coronary artery.
The blockage was discovered accidentally when Mulkey visited a doctor for numbness in her finger and was diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome.
Mulkey, 61, had no prior symptoms or knowledge of her heart condition before the procedure in June.
She is now urging people over 50 to get regular stress tests as a precautionary measure for heart health.
Despite the recent surgery, Mulkey continues to coach the defending NCAA champion LSU Tigers this season after signing a $32 million contract extension.
