LSEG Launches Microsoft-Built Blockchain Platform With First Private-Fund Deal

The Azure-based system targets faster, fully digital issuance-to-settlement for private markets.

Overview

  • LSEG completed the platform’s debut transaction as reinsurance asset manager MembersCap raised capital for its latest private fund.
  • Archax participated as nominee for the Cardano Foundation in the deal and is regulated by the UK Financial Conduct Authority.
  • Developed with Microsoft and operated on Azure, the infrastructure is part of the firms’ strategic partnership that began with Microsoft’s 2022 stake in LSEG.
  • The system supports end-to-end workflows including issuance, subscriptions, register maintenance, trading, and post-trade servicing, with private funds live first and other asset types planned.
  • LSEG says the design reduces manual processes and aims to compress private-market settlement from 40–50 days to seconds, integrates with traditional systems, and surfaces fund offerings through its Workspace product.
