Overview
- PDMA Punjab reported on Friday that Tarbela, Kalabagh and Chashma on the Indus were experiencing low-level flooding while overall flows stayed largely stable.
- The authority gave river flow readings of 342,000 cusecs at Tarbela, 309,000 cusecs at Kalabagh and 293,000 cusecs at Chashma to classify the Indus condition.
- The Chenab has improved from high to medium flood level with Marala at 208,000 cusecs, Khanki at 165,000 cusecs and Qadirabad at 190,000 cusecs after rainfall in upper catchments eased.
- Other rivers including the Jhelum and Sutlej were reported within normal limits while the Ravi measured 83,000 cusecs at Balloki and selected nullahs showed localized medium or low flooding.
- Authorities have urged local administrations and residents near rivers, barrages and nullahs to monitor PDMA updates and follow safety guidance because monsoon patterns can quickly change conditions.
