Overview
- Utah prosecutors on June 25 added three felony counts against Barnett: first-degree aggravated sexual assault, aggravated assault and domestic violence in the presence of a child.
- The fresh charges stem from an alleged November–December 2024 incident in which Barnett is accused of slapping, choking and sexually assaulting his ex-girlfriend in front of their then-1-year-old daughter.
- Barnett was already facing two felony counts for aggravated assault and domestic violence in the presence of a child related to an April 2025 incident against the same victim.
- The alleged victim reported significant physical and psychological trauma, including difficulty breathing, memory loss and severe neck pain, following the assaults.
- Barnett remains in custody without bail at Salt Lake County Jail, denies any wrongdoing and will appear in court for arraignment this week.
