Lourdes Gurriel Jr. has agreed to a three-year, $42 million contract with the Arizona Diamondbacks, with a club option for 2027.
Gurriel has the option to opt out of the contract after the second season.
Gurriel was a key player in the Diamondbacks' unexpected run to the World Series, hitting .261 with 24 homers and 82 RBIs during the regular season and .270 with three homers during the postseason.
In addition to his offensive contributions, Gurriel also played solid defense in left field and served as the Diamondbacks' designated hitter in 50 games.
Gurriel's contract with the Diamondbacks follows his trade from the Toronto Blue Jays last offseason.
