Overview
- Police arrested 56-year-old Kenneth Beals on Sunday and charged him with assault and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.

- The victim was shot in the arm and taken to UofL Hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening.
- According to court documents, the victim confronted Beals after her aunt saw him eating a snack intended for her children, and he allegedly replied, "Yes, I ate your snack and it was good" before firing.
- Beals' bond was set at $5,000, he appeared for arraignment Monday, and his next court date is scheduled for Jan. 6.
