Louisville Father and Son Charged in July Apartment Assault and Shooting

Court records describe a domestic pickup visit that escalated inside a South 8th Street apartment.

  • Arrest citations say Offutt Jr. pulled the 25-year-old victim inside and beat him with a blunt object until it broke before Offutt fired multiple shots.
  • The victim fled and was taken by his girlfriend to U of L Health Jewish Hospital with gunshot wounds to the back and abdomen and a head laceration, and police reported the injuries were not life-threatening.
  • Police say the man had gone to the apartment to pick up one of his girlfriend's children due to a reported history of domestic violence involving Offutt and the woman.
