Despite recent speculation about coach Kenny Payne’s job security following a series of losses, the win gives Louisville one more win than a year ago.
Louisville got off to a fast start against the Waves, leading for all but the first two minutes of the contest and pushing the lead to as many as 30 points in the second half.
Mike James and Curtis Williams contributed significantly to the victory, scoring 19 and 16 points respectively.
Pepperdine's Michael Ajayi led his team with 17 points and seven rebounds, but it wasn't enough to secure a win.
