Louisiana Woman Charged with Murder in Death of Telemundo Reporter Adan Manzano

Danette Colbert, known for a history of drugging and robbing victims, is accused of intentionally drugging Manzano as part of a robbery scheme.

Adan Manzano, a 27-year-old Telemundo reporter, died on February 5, 2025, from the combined effects of Xanax, alcohol, and positional asphyxia, according to the Jefferson Parish Coroner's Office.
Danette Colbert, 48, was charged with second-degree murder on March 18, 2025, after being linked to Manzano's death through surveillance footage and possession of his stolen credit card and cellphone.
Authorities suspect Colbert intentionally drugged Manzano to incapacitate him before robbing him, a pattern seen in her prior offenses involving other victims.
Rickey White, an alleged accomplice, was arrested in Florida and faces charges including robbery and fraud; he is awaiting extradition to Louisiana.
Investigators are examining Colbert's potential connection to other crimes, including a December 2024 death in New Orleans under similar circumstances.
