Louisiana Hires Quannas White as New Men's Basketball Head Coach

The long-time Houston associate head coach will lead the Ragin' Cajuns after Bob Marlin's midseason dismissal.

Quannas White, 44, has been named head coach of Louisiana's men's basketball program, following eight seasons as an associate head coach at Houston under Kelvin Sampson.
White replaces Bob Marlin, who was dismissed in December during his 15th season with Louisiana, which ended with a 12-21 record.
Under White's tenure at Houston, the Cougars achieved significant success, including a 2021 Final Four appearance, two Elite Eight runs, and six NCAA Tournament berths.
White will remain with Houston through the end of the NCAA Tournament, where the team is a projected No. 1 seed after winning the Big 12 regular-season title.
Louisiana's athletic director praised White's integrity, recruiting prowess, and player development skills, emphasizing his commitment to building a winning culture for the Ragin' Cajuns.
