- The Louisiana Department of Health reported that an infectious adult was in Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport’s Concourse B and beyond security on Nov. 9 from 5:00 to 8:30 p.m.
- The patient, a Region 9 resident exposed during international travel, is isolating, was not hospitalized, and has an unknown vaccination status.
- Officials will directly contact passengers who were on the same flight as the confirmed case.
- Measles can remain airborne for up to two hours, and about 90% of unvaccinated people exposed to the virus become infected.
- This is Louisiana’s third measles case of 2025 after two travel-related cases in April, with the alerts coming as U.S. reports surpassed 1,600 cases by Nov. 4.
