Louis Vuitton Files New Trademarks in Russia as Rolex Wins Registrations

The moves secure intellectual property rights in Russia despite paused retail operations.

Overview

  • Louis Vuitton submitted three trademark applications to Rospatent on October 1, 2025 from France, covering new logo variants, according to the agency’s database.
  • Two of the Louis Vuitton filings span classes 9, 35, 36, 41 and 42, while a third covers 19 classes including 5, 6, 11, 15, 22, 23, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 35, 40, 41, 42, 43 and 44, TASS reported.
  • Rospatent records reviewed by RIA Novosti indicate the Louis Vuitton applications list potential goods and services such as air-freshener deodorizers, lamps and chandeliers, plates and home mats, and online sales of jewelry, tableware and candles.
  • RIA Novosti reports Rospatent decided in October 2025 to register Rolex word marks Triplock and Sea‑Dweller that were filed in December 2024, granting protection through 2034.
  • LVMH closed Russian boutiques in 2022 and Swiss media later noted Rolex had suspended activity without ruling out a return, and the new IP actions do not themselves indicate store reopenings.
