Overview
- By late Friday, Louisville police said parking at the Kentucky Exposition Center had reached maximum capacity and gates were closed to all but shuttle traffic.
- Organizers expect roughly 240,000 attendees over Sept. 18–21, with seven stages hosting about 175 acts including Slayer, Avenged Sevenfold, Rob Zombie and Lamb of God.
- Shuttle options expanded this year, including a downtown route between the Kentucky International Convention Center and the festival’s south entrance, a low-cost PARC garage connection, and a TARC park-and-ride.
- Traffic slowed to a crawl on I-65 near University Boulevard, and attendees reported long exit delays after lots filled early on both days.
- Four-day passes sold out and Friday single-day tickets were gone, and Saturday demand is expected to rise further with UofL football and Churchill Downs nearby as L&N Stadium parking opens to festivalgoers only after 6 p.m.
