Lost Keys Returned Thanks to Late Dog's ID Tag

A woman in Bavaria was reunited with her keys, which had traveled across Germany, due to the sentimental tag of her deceased pet.

A woman from Bad Kissingen, Bavaria, lost her keys after they accidentally ended up in a package she returned to a Hamburg-based retailer.
The keys were discovered by another customer in Neumünster, who initially sent them back to the retailer but later handed them over to the police after they were returned without explanation.
Police identified the owner using an ID tag from the woman's late dog, which she had kept on the keyring for sentimental reasons after her pet's passing a year ago.
The keys were sent back to the woman along with a note from the Neumünster police, describing the return as a 'final Christmas greeting' from her beloved dog.
Without the dog’s tag, the keys likely would not have been traced back to their owner, according to the police statement.
