Los Angeles Rams Place Running Back Kyren Williams on Injured Reserve Due to Ankle Sprain
Rams Lose Top Rusher for At Least Four Games; Backup Running Backs Zach Evans, Royce Freeman, and New Additions to Roster Expected to Fill in.
- Los Angeles Rams' running back Kyren Williams, who leads the team in rushing with 456 yards and six touchdowns this season, has been placed on injured reserve due to an ankle sprain incurred during the team's Week 6 win over the Arizona Cardinals.
- Williams will be out for at least four upcoming games against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Dallas Cowboys, Green Bay Packers, and Seattle Seahawks, and is projected to possibly return in Week 12 against the Cardinals.
- In Williams' absence, the Rams are looking towards backup Zach Evans, who had his first four carries of the season in Week 6, and veteran player Royce Freeman to step up.
- Following the injury, the Rams also promoted fifth-year running back Darrell Henderson Jr. from the practice squad to the active roster. Henderson notably racked up 688 yards and 5 scores in the 2021 season.
- Additionally, the Rams signed running back Myles Gaskin off the Minnesota Vikings' practice squad and added him to their active roster.
