Overview

• Over the weekend of August 9–10, vandals spray-painted yellow swastikas, SS insignia, anti-Jewish slurs including “F--- Jews, BDS,” and a swastika on a cardboard snowman around the Shepher Community Center on Winnetka Avenue.
• The Israeli-American Council released security-camera stills on August 11 and is working with LAPD’s Topanga detectives to identify the perpetrators.
• Detectives are reviewing the footage and pursuing leads, and no arrests have been reported as the investigation continues.
• IAC CEO Elan S. Carr condemned the vandalism as a vile manifestation of antisemitism and vowed that it would strengthen the community’s resolve.
• Local Jewish and Israeli-American leaders have rallied around the center and enhanced on-site security in response to a global rise in antisemitism.
