Ruben's Bakery & Mexican Food in Compton, Los Angeles, was looted by about 100 people after a car was driven into the storefront during an illegal street takeover.
The looters stole goods and caused damages amounting to approximately $70,000, not including the cost of repairing the storefront and establishment.
The bakery, which has been serving the community for nearly 50 years, was forced to close for several days due to the extensive damage and theft.
Owner Ruben Ramirez Jr. expressed frustration at the lack of punishment for the perpetrators and the increasing crime rate in the area.
A GoFundMe campaign started on behalf of the business has raised over $77,000 to help with recovery efforts.
