Lorry Fire and Tunnel Closure Cause Major M25 Disruptions

A Tesco lorry fire and a maintenance vehicle breakdown have led to severe delays and closures on the M25 and Dartford Crossing.

The M25 is closed clockwise between Junction 5 and Junction 6 due to a Tesco lorry fire that occurred around 10pm on Sunday.
Emergency services, including five fire engines, responded to the blaze, which has left the lorry as a blackened shell.
Specialist equipment is required to clear the wreckage, and the road is expected to need resurfacing, keeping it closed until at least midday.
The Dartford Crossing's northbound east tunnel is also closed due to a maintenance vehicle breakdown and fluid spillage, requiring emergency resurfacing.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area as severe congestion and long delays are affecting all approaches to both incidents.
