Lorry Crashes Onto Railway Line, Disrupting Train Services Between Glasgow and Carlisle

One person was hospitalized and a man has been charged following the incident near Gretna, which caused significant rail and road disruptions.

A lorry came off the A74(M) motorway near Gretna and crashed onto the railway line just before 8am on Friday, December 13.
Train services between Glasgow Central and Carlisle via Dumfries have been suspended for the day, with replacement buses and alternative routes in place.
One person was taken to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary as a precaution, according to the Scottish Ambulance Service.
Police Scotland confirmed a man has been charged in connection with an alleged road traffic offense related to the incident.
Recovery efforts on the A74(M) caused temporary lane closures and slip road restrictions, while emergency services worked to clear the obstruction on the railway.
