Overview
- Third Man Records announced Thursday that it will reissue Van Lear Rose on vinyl and CD with the album returning to streaming services.
- The new edition is dated November 13, includes the Vault-only bonus track “Just to Have You Back,” and the single “Miss Being Mrs.” is already available to stream.
- Van Lear Rose was Lynn’s 2004 late-career comeback produced by Jack White and it won Grammys for Best Country Album and Best Country Collaboration for “Portland Oregon.”
- The album was mysteriously pulled from streaming platforms in 2021 and Third Man and Lynn’s estate have not publicly explained the reason for its removal.
- The reissue and restored streaming access will let longtime fans and new listeners hear a widely praised album again and could prompt questions and reporting about licensing or rights that led to the seven-year absence.
