Overview
- The Court held a workshop on rights and business for nearly 20 judges on September 28, carried out with technical support from the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights.
- In early October the court ran a practical session for volunteer judicial staff on filing and postulation led by Dr. Víctor H. Hinojosa Pacheco to improve document qualification and reduce procedural delays.
- Both events combined short lectures with exercises and case analysis so judges and volunteers practice applying international and inter-American standards to real Amazonia cases.
- These activities are part of the Court’s ongoing policy of continuous training and link to a Peru–UN memorandum that follows a regional meeting held in Bogotá in July.
- Officials say better-trained judges and volunteers should speed access to justice for users in Loreto and improve how courts handle potential business-related human rights impacts.
