Loose Women Off Air for Budget Coverage, Back on Thursday

The one-day break comes as ITV plans to reduce the show's annual run to 30 weeks from 2026.

Overview

  • Ruth Langsford told viewers at the end of Tuesday's episode that the show would not air on Wednesday "because of the budget."
  • ITV scheduled a live ITV News special on the Chancellor's budget around lunchtime on Wednesday, preempting the show's usual slot.
  • The programme is due to return on Thursday at its regular 12:30 pm time on ITV1 and ITVX.
  • Earlier this year ITV confirmed a daytime reshuffle that will cut Loose Women to about 30 weeks a year starting in 2026, with Lorraine shortened and Good Morning Britain extended.
  • Langsford also clarified on-air that a widely shared photo linking her to a 'new man' was AI-generated and that she remains single.
