Loose Tire From BMW Kills Driver in SR-60 Crash Near Beaumont

  • According to CHP, the left rear tire of an eastbound 2011 BMW 328i went airborne over the center divider and struck a westbound 2017 Toyota Sienna.
  • The Toyota’s 68-year-old driver from Los Angeles was pronounced dead at the scene, and a 54-year-old female passenger suffered minor injuries.
  • Local outlets identified the BMW driver as 54-year-old Philip Neil McKeehan of Riverside, who was not injured.
  • Freeway lanes closed during the response were reopened by early afternoon, and CHP requested tips through its San Gorgonio Pass office.
