Lookout Notice Issued for Delhi Ashram Director Accused of Harassing 17 Students

Police have issued a lookout notice with multi-state raids underway to find the absconding director accused by EWS students.

Overview

  • Police recorded statements from 32 PGDM students at the Vasant Kunj institute, with 17 alleging obscene messages, threats and unwanted contact targeting EWS scholarship students.
  • Sixteen complainants have deposed before a magistrate, and FIRs cite BNS provisions for sexual harassment, insult to modesty and criminal intimidation.
  • A Volvo bearing forged UN-style number plates was seized and a separate FIR was filed on August 25, while CCTV DVRs, NVRs and hard disks were sent to forensic labs following suspected data deletion.
  • The accused remains on the run despite raids across Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Uttarakhand, airport alerts are in place and his last known location was traced near Agra.
  • Investigators are questioning wardens and faculty alleged to have pressured students, the NCW has sought a report, and earlier cases from 2009 and 2016 are under review.
